The gateway can be configured as either an external type (such as 10G Ethernet, USB, or Thunderbolt) or an internal type (such as a PCIe card).
The gateway receives physical signals and converts them into packets containing a
timestamp,
payload, and additional information.
It then performs transmission and
reception according to the interface specifications
with the host PC.
The same configuration can be used for both logging and reprocessing (HILS) operations.
By comparing the sensor data and ground truth (GT) values logged during recording with the ECU output GT generated during reprocessing, it becomes possible to quantitatively evaluate and improve ECU performance. This process can be effectively used for performance verification and optimization of ECU systems.
Example code can be provided, and a basic version of the system can be developed and delivered according to the user’s requirements.
If the user intends to perform simple verification tasks such as creating a video window, a console-type implementation may offer a more convenient and lightweight solution.
For users who already have systems implemented with ROS applications, the overall system integration time can be significantly reduced by building upon the existing environment.
Supported file system formats for data storage include ADTF (stream library), ROS (ROSBAG), and RAW.
